We know that green spaces in urban neighborhoods offer rejuvenation as well as natural beauty but the psychological benefits of living in proximity to leafy trees among all other vegetation would appear to be medically conclusive.
Published in the JAMA Network Open journal, the study from the University of Wollongong in New South Wales reported that “… Living in areas where 30% or more of the outdoor space is dominated by tree canopy was associated with 31 % lower odds of psychological distress… Tree rich residents reported better health overall.”
The evidence is in. Watering and tending to our street trees really is good for you.
