Have you completed the 2020 US Census yet?
This year, completing the census response is simple and easier than ever. You have the traditional option to mail in your census response or choose the quicker option to respond online. The form takes only a few minutes to complete. Your response is critical for New York State and New York City when receiving the appropriate allocations of federal funding for programs and services based on the number of New Yorkers counted. The Census also determines the level of representation of our citizens in Washington DC. The City will either keep or lose a representative in Congress if the reported number of residents in NYC drops.
At the time of writing, the New York State response rate is less than 48%. We must do better. So be a good citizen and respond to the census today to ensure New York receives their fair share of federal resources. Then cross the census off your Spring To-Do list.
